چکیده

Synchronization is an increasingly important concept in modern physics.[9] Following analytical work,[4] we investigate the possibility of observing synchronization in a system of Nanoelectromechanical oscillators. A pair of doubly clamped mechanical resonators of about 10 μm in length were produced an analyzed. Resonant frequency, nonlinearity, quality factor, frequency tuning, and coupling measurements were taken, employing primarily a bridge measurement scheme using a network analyzer. Results were used to quantity the region of synchronization in terms of physical parameters. It was then attempted to construct a system capable of synchronization and obtain evidence of that fact.

Motion transduction in nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) arrays using near-field optomechanical coupling.

Development of efficient and sensitive motion transducers for arrays of nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) is important for fundamental research as well as for technological applications. Here, we report a single-wire nanomechanical transducer interface, which relies upon near-field optomechanical interactions. This multiplexed transducer interface comes in the form of a single-mode fiber tap...

Tuning the effective coupling of an AFM lever to a thermal bath

Fabrication of high quality nano-electromechanical systems (NEMS) is nowadays extremely efficient. These NEMS will be used as sensors and actuators in integrated systems. Their use, however, raises questions about their interface (actuation, detection, read out) with external detection and control systems. Their operation implies many fundamental questions related to single particle effects suc...

Electromechanical control of nitrogen-vacancy defect emission using graphene NEMS

Despite recent progress in nano-optomechanics, active control of optical fields at the nanoscale has not been achieved with an on-chip nano-electromechanical system (NEMS) thus far. Here we present a new type of hybrid system, consisting of an on-chip graphene NEMS suspended a few tens of nanometres above nitrogen-vacancy centres (NVCs), which are stable single-photon emitters embedded in nanod...

Multifunctional nanomechanical systems via tunably coupled piezoelectric actuation.

Efficient actuation is crucial to obtaining optimal performance from nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). We employed epitaxial piezoelectric semiconductors to obtain efficient and fully integrated NEMS actuation, which is based on exploitation of the interaction between piezoelectric strain and built-in charge depletion. The underlying actuation mechanism in these depletion-mediated NEMS beco...
